August 2024 Central Committee Meeting

August 21 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

About SacCountyGOP Meetings

The Sacramento County Republican Central Committee meetings are open to Committee Members, Alternates, and Associates with 25 open seats for invited guests. The agenda is set in advance by the SCRP Executive Committee. Since participation in the Committee meeting is reserved for Committee members only, guests are encouraged to discuss their ideas in advance with a committee member (view the list of members), or to send their comments to info@saccountygop.com.
No recording devices are allowed during the meeting, including phones. Photos/videos will be taken by representatives of the SacCountyGOP only. Thank you!

The Sacramento County Republican Central Committee meets on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings begin at 6:30pm. We do not hold meetings in July or December, unless there is a special need.

Registered Republicans in Sacramento County who signed up in advance may attend to observe the meeting. A sign up link will be posted on this page in early August. We must be able to verify your registration prior to accepting your attendance. No peeking Democrats!

The August agenda will include more endorsements of local candidates who are planning to run in November. For information on running for office, visit our Voter Guide page.

What Happened at the June Meeting?

Candidates for City Council and local school board races addressed the Committee and all were endorsed.

Treasurer Christian Forte introduced the Finance Review Committee that will meet and report back to the full Committee in August. Their task is to conduct an independent review of the books and accounts for the Sacramento County Republican Party per our Bylaws. Committee members represent all five Supervisor Districts as follows:

District 1 – Sadie Foster
District 2 – Brenda Bennett
District 3 – Nick Bloise
District 4 – Aaron Silva
District 5 – Carol Fogle

Treasurer Forte also announced a proposed change to the Bylaws, approved unanimously by the Executive Committee, that will clarify the Treasurer may retain, with Executive Committee approval, a professional service to serve as Assistant Treasurer, and to facilitate filings and financial transactions as directed. The full language of the amendment was provided to Committee Members well in advance of the 30 days notification requirements, and the vote will take place at the August meeting.

Barbara Sloan reviewed the list of upcoming events, including the Sacramento County Fair and community events in Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights and Elk Grove. Sign up forms to volunteer will be posted on the website one month in advance.

Chair Mahan thanked the donors to the State Fair Republican booth. All are listed on the State Fair webpage.

Nina Caron reported that there will be a need for trained election observers in the November Election. Sign up on the Volunteer webpage.
